Madrid, May 6 (IANS): Belarusian tennis player Victoria Azarenka advanced to the third round of the Madrid Open tennis tournament after eliminating Croatian-Australian player Ajla Tomljanovic 6-3, 6-3 win in just one hour and 30 minutes here.
Azarenka, ranked 31st in the world, will meet the world's top ranked player Serena Wiliams in the third round after her win on Tuesday, reports Efe.
Serena qualified to the third round following a 6-4, 6-0 win against her U.S. compatriot Sloane Stephens.
The Azarenka-Williams clash is a revisit to the 2012 Madrid final, which Serena won.
