Mumbai, Mar 23: Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Bahrain Shaikh Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa on Thursday met the governor of Maharashtra S M Krishna at the Raj Bhavan here.
Various issues of mutual interest for India and Bahrain were discussed at the meeting.
The Crown Prince who is on a 2-day visit to Mumbai was accompanied by Ministers for Foreign Affairs, Industry and Commerce and a high level business delegation, besides ambassador of India to Bahrain Balakrishna Shetty.
Shaikh Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince of Bahrain who is also Commander-in-chief of of the defence forces of the Kingdom of Bahrain also visited on INS Virat. He was welcomed by Shekhar Sinha (right), rear admiral fleet commander western fleet and Girish Luthra, Captain, commanding officer INS Virat on board of INS Virat on thursday.
Crown Prince Shaikh Salman (born October 21, 1969) who is also the Under Secretary of Defence in the Kingdom of Bahrain holds a Masters Degree in History and Philosophy from the Cambridge University. He was appointed chairman of the board of trustees of the Bahrain Centre for Studies and Research in 1995. The same year he was also appointed as Defence undersecretary.
Governor Krishna studied in Southern Methodist University, Dallas Texas (USA) and was a Fullbright scholar-graduate student at the George Washington University, Washington D.C (USA).
