Margao, Mar 19: Independent MLA and water resource minister Filip Neri Rodrigues will quit as MLA on Monday and later join Congress and would be subsequently re-inducted into the Pratapsing Rane Cabinet.
When contacted in this regard, Goa Pradesh Congress Committee president Ravi Naik said that Monday morning he (Rodrigues) would quit as MLA and later join Congress. He will be sworn in as minister with same portfolio in the evening at Raj Bhavan.
Naik also said that Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party stalwart Dr Kashinath Jalmi would also join Congress and some more prominent faces of politics are interested too.
Former MP Ramakant Angle who hails from Bhartiya Janta Party would also join Congress Party at the right moment, Naik further told Daijiworld correspondent.
As forthcoming Assembly election is drawing closer, politicians along with their supporters will leap into the powerful parties to secure their MLA seats, say political observers.
