Mangalore, Mar 17: A day-long poetry session was inaugurated at Sandesha Lalitakala Mahavidyalaya on Saturday March 17 morning.
The poetry session for college students of Mangalore University was inaugurated by Sandesha director Fr Francis Lewis. Dr H G Sridhar, head of Kannada literature department of Vivekananda College Puttur presided over the inaugural function.
Sandesha principal Vani Rajgopal, Dr Kavita Rai were also present at the inaugural function.
A total of 12 student poets from different colleges participated in the poetry session. After the poetry session in the morning, recitation of poems too was held. Senior poets Subraya Chokkadi, Kiran (Kutyala Nagappa Gowda), Savita Nagbhushan, Prof Vasant Bannadi, Dr Sharabhendra Swami and Jyothi Guruprasad were also present.
