HC grants bail to Colva panch member

Panaji, Apr 27 (TOI): The high court of Bombay at Goa granted conditional bail to Colva panch member Calvert Gonsalves in an alleged disproportionate assets case and directed him not to enter Colva village. "The applicant shall not visit Colva village till the investigation is complete, except to attend meetings of the panchayat. This would also be after giving 24 hours advance notice to the investigating officer," the high court observed. The applicant was arrested on April 7 by the anti-corruption branch as he was not cooperating.

While granting bail, the high court directed the applicant to furnish the bail bond of 1 lakh and a surety of the same amount.
