Saina ousted from Badminton Asia Championship


Wuhan (China), April 24 (IANS): India's Saina Nehwal lost her women's singles quarterfinal to Chinese Taipei's Tzu Ying Tai in three tough games at the $200,000 Badminton Asia Championship here on Friday.

The fifth seed defeated World No.1 Saina 16-21, 21-13, 21-18 in 55 minutes at the Wuhan Sports Center Gymnasium to level her head-to-head to 5-all against the second seed.

This is Tzu's third successive victory over Saina.

P.V. Sindhu, the only Indian left in the competition, will play her quarterfinal later in the day against reigning Olympic champion Li Xuerui of China.
