Mumbai: Karnataka Opticals owner, Lion Bhaskar K Shetty passes away

Mumbai, Apr 23: Lion Bhaskar Krishna Shetty(71), popular social worker of Tulu Kannadigas in Mumbai and proprietor of Karnataka Opticals, passed away at his residence at Andheri east Pump house on Thursday morning, April 23 after cardiac arrest.


Bhaskar Shetty, hailing from Kadekar in Udupi district had obtained his education at Karnataka night school in Mumbai and later served as the president of old student's association in the school. He was the founder president of Sahitya Balaga, Mumbai. He had indulged in social service by being the office bearer in several Tulu-Kannada associations.

Shetty has left behind his wife, two daughters, several friends and relatives. Office bearers of several social organizations and members have expressed their condolences on the demise of Bhasker Shetty.
