Margao, March 14: Very often doctors and health experts are heard emphasizing the repercussions of fast Foods on the general health of the people. Now doctors and experts will have to add more subject in their talks concurrently as drugs are easily available at some joints.
It is alleged by some locals that most of the fast food joints in South Goa and mainly in Margao, sell drugs along with fast foods.
Margao being known as the commercial capital of Goa and its proximity to Colva, Banaulim, Majorda and other beaches, flocks of tourists visit here day and night.
Anyone reaching the city even late in the night would never remain on empty stomach, as most of the fast food eateries and Dhabas will be around to serve the people. This has also resulted in this commercial city turning into a hub of drugs.
According to reliable sources, police are conniving in this matter, since they collect haftas from fast food owners while patrolling in the nights and so give immunity in running this illicity trade.
According to these sources, students from well-to-do and high-profile families are involved in this trade, since they get heavy pocket money and so they can afford to acquire drugs.
