Karkala, Mar 13:  A new road linking Marutinagar (Annerkatte) to Yeradu Salu (Don Sala) riverside via Glarida and Old Eliyal was inaugurated by MLA Sunil Kumar recently.

APMC president Anthony D’Souza, TP president Vikram Hegde, Kowdoor-Bailoor GP president Bhoja Shetty and others were also present on the occasion.

The two Kilometers' long road between Glarida and Old Eliyal was constructed by Lawrence Saldanha Kanajar at his own expense and passing through his own land for the benefit of around 100 surrounding residents along the road.

Earlier, Saldanha had constructed the one kilometer long linking road between Glarida and Mairlotte. With this present link, a new road of 5 kilometres' distance KMS from Marutinagar to Yeradu Salu is now open for the public.  

Speaking on the occasion Sunil Kumar commended the selfless initiative taken by Saldanha for the progress of the village and said that it was for the first time in the last 3 years eversince he became MLA that he had inaugurated such a project.
