Kangana plays the quintessential village girl in TWMR's 'Banno'

Mumbai, Apr 20: Kangana Ranut who is back with the sequel of her hit movie opposite R Madhavan 'Tanu weds Manu', plays the endearing village girl to the hilt and more she carries it off against her reckless city girl character of Tanu - all in one movie.

Kangana has proven her versatility in playing a double role and more so with stark contrasts between them. The two characters played by Kangana - Kusum and Tanu share their looks, their zest for life a world that is entirely different from each other.

Kangana herself had mentioned that it was very difficult for her to assimilate and churn out two very different characters but the actress seems to have pulled off the impossible.

In the latest release 'Banno' is anything to go by, Kangana portrays a no nonsense, sports oriented college girl with finesse. She articulates the accent attributed to her character as well as the other aspects of Kusum's nature in a manner that makes it completely believable that the two are completely different people.

Tanu who married Manu in the first movie seems disheartened that married life is always a bed of roses - atleast not the way she had envisioned as a young bride completely in love with her groom. She is also disgruntled over the fact that her husband has let himself go after marriage and in her own words - he is growing from any and every side akin to ginger.

Manu on the other hand also seems to have had enough and is back in India with the thought of marrying again and this time to someone else - hopefully someone who will be the wife of his dreams. He runs into Kusum, who looks a lot like Tanu and hopes to begin life anew with her.

Jimmy Shergill too is back in this sequel.
