Seychelles, April 17 (IANS): Nigeria qualified for the semi-finals of the ongoing 2015 Beach Soccer Championship, defeating Cote D' ivoire 7-6 in their quarter-final encounter here.
The game ended 6-6 on regulation time on Thursday, reports Xinhua.
However, Emeka Ogbonna's timely goal in the extra time saved the day for Nigeria.
The team earlier beat the Seychelles 10-1 in their opening match and also defeated Egypt 4-1 in the second match.
Nigeria will meet the winner of the Ghana-Senegal match in the final.
At the end of the round robin championship, two top finalists will represent Africa in the 2015 World Cup in Portugal.
The Nigerian team, in 2013 edition of the championship hosted by Morocco, crashed out in the second round.
