2 States, Haider, PK and Queen poised to walk away with IIFA awards

Mumbai, Apr 14: Set to be held in Kuala Lampur, Malaysia the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) awards is just two months away and has quite a few strong contenders for the top spots with movies vying to capture as many categories as possible.Alia Bhatt and Arjun Kapoor starrer 2 States has 9 nominations in its kitty while Haider is close behind with 8 and PK ensnared 6 nominations with Queen sitting pretty with 5 at the upcoming IIFA awards.

Aamir Khan and SRK are apparently pitted against each other for the top spot as the Best Actor (male) while Queen, Highway and Mary Kom battle it out with 2 States and Haider for Best Film. Queen and Mary Kom also have their leading actresses Kangana and Priyanka nominated in the Best Actress category with Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt and Anushka Sharma.

The Best Supporting Actor category (male)has actors such as Kay Kay Menon, Naseeudin Shah, Randeep Hooda and Riteish Deshmukh in t/he running. The award for the Best Supporting Actor seems a tough competition between Tabu, Amrita Singh, Juhi Chawla, Lisa Haydon and Huma Qureshi. The star studded event is apparently more than just a battle of wills what with the allure and sparkle that it employs to dazzle its viewers right into its sweet sixteenth year.
