Mangalore, Mar 7: The Agnesian alumnae had a get-together recently in the college. The day began with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist in the College Chapel followed by a formal function in the auditorium.
Sr Carmel Rita, principal of the college and the president of the Alumnae Association was the chief guest of the function. On the occasion she was felicitated as she was due for retirement in April 2007. Sr Carmel Rita was felicitated by Sr Olivia, assistant to the provincial of Karnataka and animator for higher education.
A cheque for the scholarship titled ‘Sr M Carmel Rita Scholarship for a Deserving Student’ for further studies was presented later to the principal. The Alumnae staff of the college also lauded the achievements of Sr Carmel Rita.
Agnesians belonging to other schools performed, adding to the joy of the day. There was much excitement and fun in the form of games, spot prizes and lucky ticket draw.
There were a total of 300 Agnesians present on the day which made it memorable.
