Mangalore, Mar 6: On the occasion of International Women’s Day on March 8, A J Hospital and Research Centre and Lioness and Lions Club will jointly organise a health check-up and cancer detection camp for women from Thursday March 8 to Saturday March 24.
A press release stated that the camp will be open on the above-mentioned days from 9 am to 1 pm and from 3 pm to 7 pm.
Those who wish to participate may do so with prior appointment. The participants will be offered gynaec consultation along with free ultrasound and several packages at a reduced rate.
The health check-up package will include ECG, routine blood investigation, ultrasound, mammogram (to detect breast cancer) and pap smear (to detect cervical cancer) at a cost of Rs 1000 as against the usual cost of Rs 2000.
The cancer detection package will include pap smear and mammogram at a cost of Rs 550 as against the actual cost of Rs 1050.
Those who have or suspect any gynaecological problem may attend the camp and contact 0824 – 2225533 for registration.
The hospital will also organise a public awareness talk on Wednesday March 7 at 10 am at the hospital conference hall. Dr Venkatesh Sanjeeva will give a talk on ‘Breast Cancer’ and Dr Dinesh Kadam will deliver an address on ‘Plastic Surgery and Reconstruction,’ the release stated.
