Bangalore, Feb 5: Chief Minister Pratapsingh Rane announced that the Goa Police Act will be passed very soon by drafting the ordince of same.

Speaking at the press confernece after the passing out parade of 137 Goa Armed Force constables, at Border Security Force (BSF) Yelanka - Banglore, Rane said that there was a need for this act to be implemented, and therefor it would be passed soon.

Rane informed that the Act was formulated after studying the laws in countries like Singapore, Japan, Hong Kong and Malaysia, passed unanimously in assembly and was sent to union government a couple of years ago. But somehow it could not become a reality.

The law and order scenario in Goa itself has been changing fast. There are indications of threats to security from external elements, said said Rane, while appealing to the  police and GAF constables to keep up their image as law-keepers and they would have to function in a society-friendly way.

He expressed concern over human trafficking, especialy of women and children by paedohpiles coming to Goa as tourists.

DIG and Commandant STC, Bangalore Chacko George, DGP P S Brar, DIG Ujwal Mishra, SP A K Gauns, SP Anita Rodrigues, Panaji SDPO Seu Banaulikar and police officials from Goa were present on the occasion of the passing out parade.
