Los Angeles, April 7 (IANS): Actor Shia LaBeouf has signed on for a role in the movie "American Honey".
The "Nymphomaniac" actor, who has kept a low profile since getting entangled in a plagiarism scandal, is now slated to star in the coming-of-age drama directed by Indie filmmaker Andrea Arnold, reports aceshowbiz.com.
Arnold will direct and write the upcoming movie. It revolves around a runaway teenager who earns a living by selling magazine subscriptions around the US and then gets caught up in a whirlwind of hard-partying, law-bending, and young love.
Arnold won jury prizes at Cannes with 2006's "Red Road" and 2009's "Fish Tank". She went on to head Critics' Week jury at the film festival last year.
Meanwhile, LaBeouf was last seen in David Ayer's "Fury" with Brad Pitt and will next appear in "Man Down" with Kate Mara.
