Kolkata, April 7 (IANS): Despite Kolkata Knight Riders captain Gautam Gambhir's praise for Sunil Narine, Mumbai Indians refuse to give much weight to the spinner ahead of their clash on Wednesday in the opening match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) at the Eden Gardens here.
Praising Narine for making a comeback after being suspended for suspect bowling action, Gambhir said the West Indian cast an aura on his opponents.
"Even if he bowls straight deliveries, it will be an advantage... that's the kind of aura that Narine has on the opposition," Gambhir said about the star spinner who played a pivotal role in helping the Knights claim their second IPL title last year.
Refusing to comment if Narine will continue to be lethal despite his remodelled action, Indians skipper Rohit Sharma said his team was focusing on the entire KKR bowling line-up and not the offie alone.
"I can't comment on him as I really don't know what kind of action he has now. We will get to know once we play him tomorrow. I am sure he wants to prove a point but, for us, it's just not him," said Rohit.
"There will be four more bowlers, there will be 16 more overs that will be bowled which will also be crucial. So, we are not just focusing on a single bowler but their entire bowling unit."
