Mangalore, Mar 2: Minster for higher education D H Shankaramurthy will be in the city on Sunday March 4 to inaugurate the new building of Dr M V Shetty College of Speech and Hearing at Panjimogaru near here.
Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday February 28, Dr M V Shetty Memorial Trust founder secretary Dr M Ramgopal Shetty informed that the inauguration will be done at 4 pm.
On the same occasion, district in-charge minister B Nagaraj Shetty declare open the new seminar hall while Mangalore University vice-chancellor Prof K M Kaveriappa will inaugurate the Audiology section.
Suratkal MLA J Krishna Palemar will be the guest of honour. The programme will be presided over by Dr M Ramgopal Shetty. Professor and consultant in speech therapy Dr Pratibha Karanth will deliver the keynote address, Shetty said.
The new building, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, has been constructed in accordance with the specifications of Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI), New Delhi.
The building will specially cater to the physically challenged and even the elevators have been equipped with audio instructions to aid the visually impaired.
Among those present was college principal Dr T A Subba Rao.
