Mumbai, Feb 28: Christian entrepreneurs and Businessmen movement ‘Dimensions’, recently held its first annual fellowship at Hotel Athithi here.
The fellowship commenced with a welcome address by Leslie Frank. Xavier Institute of Leadership director Fr Anthony D'Souza SJ was the key speaker.
Fr D'Souza in his inspiring address stated that ‘Dimensions’ is not just an association or organization, but a movement, mobilizing Christian entrepreneurs to make a difference in the business world. He emphasized that the characteristic of entrepreneurs is that they are men and women who tend to be independent, results-oriented, courageous daring, and high achievers. As Christian entrepreneurs there is need for a paradigm shift from success to significance, to making a meaningful difference in the business world and the lives of the community and people. He congratulated Freddy Mendonca for bringing such a powerful group together to work in unity.
Adolf D'Souza and Clive Dias, two of the three Christian Corporators who were elected at the recently held BMC polls, were honoured on the occasion. Alice Therattil who was not able to attend was also remembered and felicitated in absentia.
Catholic Sabha general secretary Vinod Noronha elucidated the concept and culture prevalent at "Dimensions". He shared the immediate plans being worked upon in order to promote entrepreneurs and in particular, stated how Dimensions have already kick - started activities in order to help potential Christian entrepreneurs set up small business ventures of their own. He elaborated on two plans which will soon be set into execution mode, whereby financial resources generated out of potential profits can be realized, and this resource harnessed for the growth/incubation of Christian talent in business and Enterprise. He stressed upon the fact that all this was being achieved in a true Christian spirit, keeping in mind Dimension's vision of transparency, commitment, trust and excellence.
