Madrid, April 2 (IANS): Defender Alvaro Arbeloa has said "there is a chance that Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho" may return to manage former club Real Madrid in the future, although he highlighted that the Portuguese is happy in his current club where he is not "stalked" like he was in Spain.
"I don't know when, but there is a chance he may return to Real Madrid. I don't believe he caused a rift amongst the Bernabeu faithful," he was quoted as saying by marca.com on Thursday.
"I'm a Mourinho fan and I sometimes try to emulate him. I try to do things a certain way, never making excuses or fearing who I am."
Mourinho coached Real Madrid for three years from 2010 but then left the club with mutual consent after getting involved in several controversies.
Regarding Mourinho's departure from the club, Arbeloa said he was not left alone in the dressing room when the Portuguese moved to Chelsea: "I had friends like Xabi Alonso, Raul Albiol, Jose Callejon. who have all since left, but I get on well with all the lads here now".
He said his relationship with goalkeeper Iker Casillas, which broke down during Mourinho's time at the club, has improved and the rift is part of "ancient history".
"We don't have any problems with each other now; we didn't need to talk about it, time always heals this sort of thing", he said.
