Mumbai, Feb 23: Anita Saroj, 14, a resident of Dharavi committed suicide after her mother refused to give her Re 1 to buy some toffee. On Wedenesday afternoon Anita asked her mother for the money to buy sweets, but her mother refused saying she didn’t have change and asked her to wait until evening. She promised to go to the market and get the change and give her the money.
When the mother left for the market Anita hanged herself from the ceiling. The Dharavi police have registered a case of suicide and have recorded the statement of family members.
