Saina reaches India Open final


New Delhi, March 28 (IANS): India's top shuttler Saina Nehwal entered the women's singles final of the $275,000 India Open Superseries for the first time, beating Japan's Yui Hashimoto in straight games at the Siri Fort Sports Complex here on Saturday.

The World No.2, who is confirmed to become No.1 on Thursday, won 21-15, 21-11.

The top seed will take on former winner and ex-World Champion Ratchanok Intanon in the final on Sunday. The Thai earlier defeated reigning World Champion Carolina Marin of Spain 21-19, 21-23, 22-20 in an hour and 24 minutes.
