Mumbai, Mar 26: Actress Shazayn Padamsee, who is descrined by her director Saurabh Verma as a perpetual prankster, says she worked very hard to perfectly portray herself as a Gujarati girl for her next film 'Solid Patels'.
A comedy film, 'Solid Patels' is about a Gujarati family and has quintessential quirks synonymous with the community portrayed in the film. Saurabh Verma declared that his decision to cast Shazayn was spot on given that she has a sense of humour which translates into the pranks that she plays on set. He said, “When an actress plays a prank on the director during shoot, you know you have made the right choice for a comedy movie. She loves playing pranks! Someday, I am going to have a panic attack because of her."
Shazayn said that she had to work on the various aspects that are associated with Gujarati girl on a general basis. She has fine tuned her body language, her diction and dialect to incorporate the Gujarati roots of her character in the movie. She also has honed her skills in comic timing to ensure she gives her best for all the comic sequences. The 27 year old actress firmly believes that comedy takes more hard work because it requires the actor to be very serious in order to succeed in being funny.
Saurabh Verma who is all praises for Shazayn said,"Her comic timing is brilliant and so organic. Shazahn is a fun girl to work with, she is always smiling, playing jokes, keeping it light and positive."
The film is slated for release on the 24th of April, and also features Ali Asgar, Kettan Singh and Shiv Pandit.
