Mangalore, Feb 20: The Kannada Sahitya Parishat has planned to hold `Cauvery Nadige' demanding an amicable settlement to the Cauvery issue.
Briefing the press on Monday, February 19, District Kannada Sahithya Parishat president Pradeep Kumar Kalkura said that the president’s intervention would be sought through the Prime Minister on Wednesday.
A symbolic rally would be held in the city, he said adding that the rally would begin from Kadri Manjunatheshwara Temple premises at 3.30 pm and end at Deputy Commissioners' office where a memorandum will be submitted
People of all communities and religious background and several leaders will participate in the rally. Organisations like the Hindu Yuva Sena, Vishwa Hindu Parishat, AMUCT, INCTUC will also be a part of the rally.
State Minority Commission chairman M S Masood, Karnataka Kannada Sahithya Parishat former state president Harikrishna Punaroor and Advocate Ivan D'Souza were present in the press meet.
