Mexico City, March 22 (IANS): A Mexican professional wrestler has died after receiving a flying kick during a match in Tijuana.
Pedro Aguayo Ramirez, 35, lay unconscious after suffering too severe a kick from fellow wrestler Oscar Gutierrez on Saturday, reports Xinhua. Ramirez was popular in the Lucha libre (free wrestling) competition in Mexico.
The match continued for almost two minutes before others realised that Ramirez was seriously injured. He was taken to the hospital and died there.
Ramirez began his wrestling career at the age of 15. He was the son of the legendary Pedro "Perro" Aguayo, now retired and a member of the Aztec lucha hall of fame.
