Malik, Tomlinson to pay drug bond for Philippines visit

Los Angeles, March 20 (IANS): One Direction band members Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson have been forced to deposit bonds worth 6,600 pounds to get a special work permit for visiting the Philippines.

The duo have been asked to put down the money ahead of One Direction's concert in Manila this weekend, to be forfeited if they are caught using, or impliedly promoting, illegal drugs while in the Philippines, reports dailymail.co.uk.

The news comes in the wake of a video filmed last April, where the pair was seen joking about drugs as they appeared to share a roll-up 'joint' during the Latin America leg of their 2014 Stadium Tour.

"The condition is intended to protect the public interest should the band members commit any violation during their stay in the Philippines," an immigration spokeswoman said.
