Beltangady, Feb 12: The volunteers of the recently concluded Mahamastakabhisheka were rewarded for their contribution to the event with the opportunity to anoint the statue of Bahubali here on Sunday February 11.
The volunteers anointed the statue with 504 kalashas (pots) using holy water, tender coconut water, sugarcane juice, milk, sandalwood paste, ashtagandha, saffron, etc.
Even members of the public who were witnessing the proceedings were given a chance to anoint the statue. The entire ceremony was conducted under the guidance of Acharya 108 Vardhamana Sagara Munimaharaj.
Among those present were Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Dr Veerendra Heggade, Dr B M Hegde of Manipal University, D Surendra Kumar, D Harshendra Kumar, D Rajendra Kumar, B Yashovarma and Srinivas Shetty.
