Melbourne, Mar 12 (PTI): Husband and brother of 41-year-old Bantwal-origin Prabha Arun Kumar, who was stabbed to death in Sydney, today made an emotional appeal to Australian authorities to find her killer and bring him to justice.
Speaking to reporters in Sydney, the victim's husband Arun Kumar said, "My wife was the most caring and beautiful soul".
Arun had flown in from India following the brutal murder of his wife, who was an IT professional.
He pleaded for justice and said "I know that we can't bring her back but I want, whoever killed my wife, to be brought to justice."
"I'm her husband and father of a young girl, who has lost a beloved mother," he said, and also appealed to people to help find the culprit, if they have any information on him.
Meanwhile, detectives are still searching for the killer and trying to establish a motive in the attack.
They said that it does not appear that Prabha was sexually assaulted or robbed or racially attacked.
Prabha's brother, Shankar Shetty also made a personal appeal to his sister's killer to surrender.
"You have taken my sister's life, please step forward and get help and get your life back," he said.
"Nobody deserved to have anyone from their family taken away from them in these horrific circumstances," he said, adding, "the pain I have felt since (her death) has been unimaginable."
Police have interviewed several witnesses since the attack on her in a park in Sydney on Saturday.
Homicide Squad Commander Detective Superintendent Michael Willing said, "I can say at this point in time, we are no closer to identifying a motive for this senseless attack," he said.
Willing said from CCTV footage police had reviewed, they don't think they can identify anyone who was following Prabha.
Police have also released the CCTV footage of Prabha walking from the Parramatta train station just before she was fatally stabbed and appealed to people for information to crack the baffling case.
