Bengaluru: Governor Vajubhai Vala walks out as national anthem plays

Bengaluru, Mar 10 (IANS): Karnataka Governor Vajubhai Rudabhai Vala on Tuesday walked out of the durbar hall of Raj Bhavan even as the national anthem was being played during a function.

After administering oath of office to Justice Raghvendra Singh Chauhan as judge of the Karnataka High Court at a brief ceremony in the durbar hall, Vala was seen walking out while the national anthem was being played instrumentally.

When an aide rushed towards Vala and reminded him that the national anthem was being played to mark the end of the ceremony, the 77-year-old veteran Gujarat leader returned to the dais and stood along with Karnataka High Court Chief Justice D.H. Waghela, Justice Chauhan and state chief secretary Kaushik Mukherjee.

"It was not intentional but happened on the spur of the moment. The governor did not mean any disrespect to the national anthem and he returned to the dais immediately after he was told about it," a state official, who was present at the ceremony, told IANS.

President Pranab Mukherjee recently transferred Justice Chauhan to Karnataka from Rajasthan High Court.

There was no communique from Raj Bhavan or the state government on the governor's momentary lapse.

In our country when something wrong happens by someone, the whole media and people criticize and spent time on all unwanted things. Even in this case too nothing positive can be expected as all parties and offices are filled with OLDIES. Can the government make the age limit for public servants I mean politicians. All oldies to be made as advisors not governors or ministers.
What India learnt, what is going change by this incident which is good for the country?

A clear case of losing his marbles.
It is a sure case of Memory Loss.
Think every morning his butler, P.A. or somebody reminds him that he is the Governor of Karnataka.
Karnataka Kem Che?? He might be asking.
Governors at 77, 95 and all that.
    You are asking for it...
Remember N.D. Tiwari at 87? His 'Raas Leela' can never be matched! The walls at 'governor's House' in A.P. are still talking about it!

Gujarathis are very poor in Sports,Music, and literature. Any one can counter check this from State-wise records of Music,Sports & literature.
So,Vala being poor in Music he could not understand the National anthem played instrumentally.
But he could have observed other people on the stage who were Standing there silently paying respect to National anthem and he could understood the solemnity of the occasion.

Sign of ultra nationalism or poor hearing...considering his age we need not make it big hullabaloo as every human are prone to error at this point of time...Irony is only retired persons are appointed as governors well past of their healthy age...lesson to bjp dont create big fuss on issues like this when it happen on other side as the sole caretaker of nationalism...
