Udupi, Feb 3: A State-level two-day Karate Championship was inaugurated at Udyavara near here on Saturday February 3 morning.
The championship for the children was inaugurated by Jaleel Saheb of Halima Sabju Trust and Shri Lakshmeevarateertha Swamiji of Shiroor Math.
Former MP Vinay Kumar Sorake, Sudarshan of Amateur association, Krishnamurthy, Srinivas Ganiga and Vithal Shetty, physical education inspector were also present on the dais.
Organizers Ravi Kumar Udyavar, Santhosh Suvarna and Nityanand Kemmannu were also present.
More than 500 participants in Kata and Kumite categories are contesting in this two-day championship.
