Mumbai, Mar 4: Five achievers in different fields have been selected for this year's annual awards presented by Swastik Friends Club of Punjalkatte.

Popular priest of Mumbai K Sadashiva Shanti has been selected for Swasthisiri state award–2015 for his meritorious service in religious activities informed honorary president of the club, M Thungappa Bangera.

Other achievers who are selected for the awards are Devendra Kokradi for business, Patla Satish Shetty for Yakshagana, Swarnalatha Hegde for social work and Mylari Thipatooru for social work.

The achievers selected for Swasthisiri celebration awards are Gopala Bangera Madwa for Arts, Venkatesh Shetty Moorje for Yakshagana Himmela, Venkappa Nalike Kuntalkatte for Janapada, Ramesh Master Punjalkatte for education and Silvester Pinto Nayanadu for business.

The 31st celebrations of Murugendra Mitra Mandali Punjalkatte, Surya Friends Badagundi and Swastik Friends will be held at Bangle grounds of Punjalkatte on Sunday March 8 and the achievers will be presented the awards in a programme combined with seventh annual free weddings ceremony, informed Thungappa Bangera in a news release.
