Mangalore, Feb 1: Children of the city are in for a grand treat with the Pilikula Nisargadhama Society’s all set to organise a two-day carnival for kids on Saturday February 3 and Sunday February 4.

Speaking at a press meet, Pilikula Nisargadhama executive director J R Lobo said that a number of activities like film show, trekking, animal watching and others have been lined up for the carnival.

The event will be inaugurated by district in-charge minister Nagaraj Shetty at Pilikula Nisargadhama Amphitheatre while Suratlkal MLA Krishna Palemar will preside.

The carnival, which has been organised in association with various departments, will also showcase a Science centre where in models and structures relating to Science will be on display. Both days will see a host of entertainment programmes like mimicry, magic show, dance and singing.

‘Kids Lab,’ a unique programme wherein children will be given six experiments to conduct, will be inaugurated by BASF India chairman Prasad Chandran. The amphitheatre will be inaugurated by MLA N Yogish Bhat while the artisan products exhibition will be inaugurated by ZP president Sushma Janardhan.

The Kids Lab will go on till Wednesday February 7. There will also be a host of competitions, activities like demonstration of experiments from various organisations from Bangalore and other places, and kite flying will be part of the carnival.

Regional Science Centre director (training) Prof K V Rao and BASF general manager Purandaradas Shetty also spoke at the press meet.
