Dubai, March 3 (IANS): An expatriate Indian woman and her daughter in the UAE have been cleared of the charges of extorting 500,000 dirhams (about $136,000) from a man by allegedly threatening to dishonour him through the disclosure that he had had sex with the daughter, media reported Tuesday.

The Dubai Court of First Instance acquitted the Indian mother, S.S., 48, and her daughter, H.B., 23, of charges of verbally threatening to shame their compatriot.

According to the petition, the mother threatened him in February 2014 that she will inform the authorities that he had had sex with H.B. in the emirate of Ajman in the United Arab Emirates if he did not pay them money, the Gulf News reported.

Presiding Judge Mohammad Jamal cleared the duo, who contended that the complainant brought the allegations against them out of malice.

The man alleged in the complaint that his friend, S.S, lured him to an Ajman hotel where he was left alone with H.B., who seduced him and tempted him to have sex with her.
