Fujairah, Feb 28: Canara Catholics Fujairah, an association of Mangalureans in Fujairah is all set to celebrate the tenth year of its existence. In the recently held general body meeting the members discussed and planned various activities to mark the celebration of the decennial year.
Melvin Vas was unanimously elected the president for the association's tenth year. He was also the founder president of CCF. Being a dynamic community leader, Melvin is actively involved in the parish activities. He is the vice-president of the parish council of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Fujairah.
Lancy Dantis, a dedicated volunteer at the Fujairah Church was elected the chief coordinator.
Also elected were Ovina Saldanha and Roy Veigas as secretary and treasurer respectively. Roy Veigas has been rendering his service as the treasurer of CCF since its inception.
Prakash Rodrigues, Vincent Barboza, Antony D'Silva, Prakash Mascharenhas, Anil Cutinha, Ronald Pereira, Valerian Mendonca, Steven D'Souza, Lawrence Moras, Gretta Dias and Assumpta Britto weer elected the members of executive committee.
The outgoing president Prakash Mascharenhas thanked the members for their support during his tenure and congratulated the new office-bearers.
Melvin Vas commended the members for their unity in the past years.
Fr Sagayraj SDB, parish priest of Fujairah Church congratulated the new office-bearers and thanked the Mangalurean community for their dedicated service to the Church.
