Pune, Feb 26 (IANS): Mumbai FC coach Khalid Jamil is not going to be carried away by the team’s back-to-back home wins against Salgaocar SC and Royal Wahingdoh.
Instead, Jamil sounded a note of caution as his team prepares to take on debutants Bharat FC in their seventh round of I-League at the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex, Balewadi here Friday.
“We are high on confidence after we won both of our last two games, but it’s going to be very difficult to defeat Bharat FC. They are a very strong team and in the previous match they played very well to win,” said Jamil, referring to the Pune club who despite having two players sent off, managed to win 2-0 over Salgaocar last Sunday.
“They have plenty of experience with some quality players and their defending is their strong point. We have to adopt a positive approach and not bother too much about the result. A win is certainly good but a point is also satisfying. To achieve that we must be alert from the start.”
The Mumbai coach added that he will try to maintain the same team as the last match but hinted that skipper Climax Lawrence could be included in the starting line-up.
“I may retain the team which played against Wahingdoh or may be make a couple of changes. Including Climax is one option but I will decide on the final composition later,” Jamil said.
Mumbai FC, who lost all their three away ties, would certainly hope to earn their maiden win away from home. With a tally of seven points from six games, Mumbai FC are currently eighth and a win would lift them higher in the 11-team standings.
On the other hand Bharat FC are second from last with five points from the same number of matches.
