Kundapur, Jan 27: A ten-month-old baby was killed and four others were injured in a lorry-car collision at Trasi Junction near here on Friday January 26.

The deceased child has been identified as Tanmay Kini, son of Santhosh Kini and Vinanti Kini of Hubli.  Along with Santhosh and Vinanti their daughter Tanushri (6) and mother Padmavati Kini (6) too have sustained injuries.

The entire family was on its way to Ambalpady in Udupi from Hubli.  Santhosh who is working as area manager in a medicine company in Hubli originally hails from Ambalpady.  The entire family was coming to the native place to attend a family function when the accident took place.

They were travelling in a Maruti-800 car when a recklessly driven lorry collided with the car at Trasi Junction.  Though all of them were immediately taken to hospital, Tanmay breathed his last on the way owing to critical injuries.

The Gangolli police have registered a case in this regard.
