Panaji, Jan 24: Faced with lack of presiding officers, in all 741 cases are pending in labour and industrial court of the state, government told the state legislative assembly on Wednesday January 24.

In a written reply, labour and employment minister Joaquim Alemao, has stated that 156 cases are pending in the labour court while 585 are in the industrial tribunal.

Alemao has stated that industrial tribunal I and labour court I have 562 and 147 cases respectively pending in them. Industrial tribunal II and labour court II has 23 and nine cases pending respectively.

“At present both industrial tribunal I and labour court I as well as industrial tribunal II and labour court II are not having presiding officers,” the minister said.
