Drugs worth Rs.7.5 lakh seized from Goa beach


Panaji, Feb 23 (IANS): Synthetic drugs, valued at Rs.7.5 lakh, were seized and a man was arrested during a raid at a well-known beach in Goa, police said Monday.

The narcotic LSD, a popular party drug, was seized at Arambol beach, 50 km from Panaji, from Rakesh Kumar, a 27-year-old from Himachal Pradesh.

The raid was conducted by the Anti-Narcotics Cell of Goa Police over the weekend, a police spokesperson said.

The man was arrested under relevant sections of the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act and was sent to three days' police custody, the spokesperson said.
