Mangalore, Jan 24: The Principal District and Sessions Judge of Dakshina Kannada H M Bharatesh on Tuesday suggested owners of cashew processing industries at the Baikampady industrial estate to open a school for children of cashew workers.

He was speaking after inaugurating a legal awareness camp for women employed in cashew industries, at the office of Kanara Small Industries Association at Baikampady here.

Bharatesh said that there should be cordial relation between employees and employers. All employees should have legal awareness. There was no need to make a distinction that only women labourers should have legal awareness, he said.

Prakash Kalbavi, president, Karnataka Cashew Manufacturers' Association, said camp would help women workers to know basics of law and their rights.
