Mumbai, Feb 22: Five young men have been arrested by the city's police for the kidnap and rape of a teenage girl, based on the information given by the victim who hails from Mumbra in Thane district. One of the five accused is said to be a juvenile.
The five men are believed to have raped the girl repeatedly over the span of four days at various lodges situated between Shil Daighar and Khopoli. One of men, allegedly was known to the girl and he is believed to be the one who drugged her. His accomplices then helped him kidnap the girl and take her to a secluded spot between Shil Daighar and Khopoli.
For the next four days the rapists continued to sexually assault her in the various lodges situated in and around the area. The parents who had registered a missing complaint heard nothing as police up until then were unable to trace her and therefore they turned her case over to Crime Branch. She told the police all that she could of the men who had mistreated her. The police used the information to nab the miscreants.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Nagesh Lohar said that the accused who had been apprehended were, Fahad Dhanse, Mohammad Javed Abdul Memon, Amjad Ali Sangram, Akram Iqbal Khan and a juveline. The men, except the juvenile were all in the age group of 18 - 22. The police have booked all of them under the IPC sections that deal with rape, wrongful confinement and protection of children from Sexual Offences (POCSO).
