Mumbai, Feb 22: Actress Mallika Sherawat has recently spoken out on the AIB controversy saying that she supported Aamir Khan's stand and that she felt Aamir was spot on when he said that there shouldn't be any "emotional violence." Director Karan Johar who is a good friend of Aamir Khan and his wife Kiran Rao expressed his disappointment over the fact that Aamir condemned the show so candidly.
Mallika Sherawat said that she, like Aamir Khan hadn't watched the show, only heard of it but she backed his sentiment that no one should hurt another person's feelings and sensibilities. She further added that there were bigger more pressing issues that needed the people's immediate attention like the gross dearth of clean drinking water and the atrocities on women.
Recently under fire herself, the actress defended her stance too on the fact that she had posed with the national flag draped around herself for her upcoming film, "Dirty Politics". On that particular matter, the actress felt that the Tri-colour is nobody's monopoly and given that we live in a free country and a democracy, her actions did not deserve the flak that they received.
Aamir Khan had, reportedly, said, “My opinion is that it was a violent show. Karan (Johar) and Arjun (Kapoor) are my friends and I scolded them and told them that I was not impressed with it. If you think 25 abuses can impress me, then you’re wrong. I’m not 14 anymore, abusive language doesn’t excite me."
