Mumbai, Feb 20: The Bombay High Court, today stopped the arrest of Karan Johar, by the city police for his participation in the highly controversial show All India Bakchod (AIB) roast. The hearing came with regards to the case that has been registered against the film maker who took to the podiumas a host for the roast.
Justices Ranjit More and Anuja Prabhudesai stopped the police in making any arrests till the next date of hearing scheduled for the 16th of March. The case was made collectively against almost 14 people who were connected directly with the making of the show. This present complaint that is being dealt with by the police has been filed by activist Santosh Daundkar. The court awaits the reply by the state government in reply to two petitions that have been made in favour of squashing the hitherto filed FIRs.
The 14 people who have been included in the case are Jayantilal Shah who is the president of the National Sports Club of India, Ravinder Agarwal who is the general secretary of the NSCI, organisers, host Karan Johar, participants - Ranveer Singh, Arjun Kapoor, Rajeev Masand, Tanmay Bhatt,Abish Matthew, Gursimran Khamba, Ashish Shakya, Aditi Mittal, and audiences Alia Bhatt and Depika Padukone.
The FIRs were reported at the Tardeo Police Station.
