Cuttack, Feb 20 (IANS): Medium-pacer Balwinder Sandhu bagged three of the six wickets to fall here on the last day of the Ranji trophy quarterfinal Friday as Mumbai beat Delhi by 204 runs to book a spot in the semifinals.
Chasing a mammoth 441, Delhi were tottering at 110 for four overnight with Unmukt Chand (31) and Gautam Gambhir (34) already back in the pavilion.
The only resistance Friday came in the form of all-rounder Rajat Bhatia who scored 49 runs from 122 balls.
Bhatia and Virender Sehwag (19) combined to take Delhi to 150. Sandhu then bowled Sehwag in the 56th over.
It was not long before left-arm spinner Harmeet Singh dismissed Bhatia and Sumit Narwal (9), as Delhi was reduced to 199 for nine, the last wicket partnership of Pradeep Sangwan (26) and Parvinder Awana (24) put on 37 but could not help their plunging to defeat.
Sandhu finished with figures of 3 for 35, while Wilkin Mota and Harmeet took two apiece.
The other two quarter finals were won by Karnataka and Tamil Nadu owing to their first innings lead.
