Mumbai, Jan 22: The feast of Infant Jesus which began with the nine - day novena, was held here on Sunday January 21 in the St Joseph’s Church at Mira Road here. The feast day theme was ‘Jesus is the Centre of our Life for our liturgy’.

Bishop Thomas Dabre of Vasai diocese was the main celebrant along with the parish priest Fr Rudolf V D' Souza, assistants Fr Elias D' Souza and Deepak Thomas and guest priest Fr Stephen from  Mission of Bellary and deacon Brother Ajith.

The Bishop delivered a thought provoking homily stressing the need to make Jesus the centre of one’s life. Fr Rudolf translated the whole homily in Konkani as 80 per cent of the parishioners of Mira Road are Konkani  speaking people.

Fr Rudolf thanked all those who were instrumental in making the feast a big success. Francis Araujo, vice president, the office staff and Sebastian D'Souza organized the programme with the help of third Order Carmelite Members and Legion of Mary for distributing sweets after the solemn Mass.

People of other religions, castes and creed came to honour Infant Jesus in thousands during the last week.
