National stunt championship of bikers in Goa this weekend

Panaji, Feb 19 (PTI): Biking experts will display their skills during the National Stunt Championship to be held as a part of the two-day India Bike Week (IBW) starting on Saturday.

Eight professional biking teams will perform some never-seen-before stunts during the IBW to be held at Vagatore beach here on February 21 and 22.

The teams were selected by Araz Gibieza, two-time European stunt champion and Red Bull athlete, who himself performed sensational stunts across eight cities as part of IBW On-Tour, a run-up event to the IBW-2015. Around 30,000 biking enthusiasts in eight cities attended the IBW On-Tour, a five-hour biking and music event, held in January this year.

Aras judged the biking stunt competitions held in various cities and the winning team from each city was selected to participate in the national stunt championship at Vagator in Goa.

Over 10,000 bike enthusiasts are expected to arrive in Goa to attend the IBW-2015.

"Stunt biking was one of the crowd pullers at all On-Tour events and the crowd enjoyed watching their favourite contestants doing wheelie, rolling burnout, stoppie and skitch," said Martin da Costa, CEO of 70 EMG.

"We are amazed to see the incredible amount of biking enthusiasm and passion among the people in the country and the response to IBW On-Tour event proved that," he added.
