Mangalore, Jan 20: 'Sparsha' counselling centre which works under the auspices of Konkani Yuva Awaz has been rendering yeoman's service to the society ever- since its inception almost a year ago.

Now the centre has come up with another novel way to create awareness about one of the most menacing issues of the day.  The centre has planned to create awareness about "Bundh Culture" which has been instrumental in so many problems of recent.  In order to let youth know the disadvantages of bundh and also demand the government to form laws to keep this culture in check, Sparsha Counselling Centre will hold a two-week-long "Bund Bundh Movement", a signature campaign from Sunday January 21 to Monday February 5.

During these days MSW students of St Aloysius College, Roshni Nilaya, Sridevi College fo Social Work, Srinivas College, Karavali College, Mangalore University and Alva's College Moodbidri will visit various colleges, technical institutes to meet students in order to create awareness.  They are also aiming at collecting more than 25,000 signatures and submitting a memorandum demanding to take stern action against any individual or association that gives a bundh call.

This was announced in a press conference here on Saturday January 20 morning.  Former governor of Lions District Ln Kripa Amar Alva inaugurated the "Bundh Bundh Movement" on the occasion.

General secretary of Sparsha Denis D'Silva, MSW students Shakir, Selvin and Renita too were present at the press conference.
