Melbourne, Feb 17 (IANS): Australia and England's top players with an intellectual disability will take part in the series here from March 14-24 this year, Cricket Australia said in a statement Tuesday.
The tournament will form part of Cricket Australia's first All Abilities Championships which also includes a Blind cricket national championships and a Deaf cricket exhibition match. It will be the first time blind, deaf and cricketers with an intellectual disability will be brought together to compete simultaneously.
The first international series for cricketers with an intellectual disability - a tri- nation series with Australia, England and South Africa - was held in 2005. Australia won three of the next four tournaments , with England the most recent series winners in 2011.
The tournament, named the International Cricket Series will involve four 40-over games and two Twenty20 matches.
