Mumbai, Jan 10: The final rites of the late L A D Fernandes, elder brother of union minister Oscar Fernandes, were held in the Good Shepherd Church, Four Bungalows, in Andheri West on Tuesday, January 9 evening, followed by interment in the Oshiwara cemetery.
Besides family members, those who were present included Oscar and Blossom Fernandes, Maharashtra medical education minister Suresh Shetty representing CM Vilasrao Deshmukh, minister Rohidas Patel, Chandrakant Handore, Baba Siddiqui, AICC general secretary Margaret Alva, Lok Sabha member Priya Dutt, MRMC president Janet D'Souza, MRCC president Gurudas Kamat, MLAs Kripashankar Singh, Baldev Khosa and Jagannath K Shetty, Balakrishna Kotian, Jayaprakash Shetty, Christian Chamber of Commerce president Vincent Mathias, Fuddar Pratishthan president John D'Silva, Ryan International Schools director Grace Pinto, community leaders Austin D'Souza Prabhu, Henry D'Souza, Benedicta Rebello, Harry S Ferar, Maxim Mathias, Francis Rasquinha and a number of former colleagues, friends and well-wishers of the deceased.
