Kuwait, Feb 6: Pius Nagar Welfare Committee Kuwait (PWCK) celebrated its parish feast at Indian Community School Auditorium, Shara Amman, Salmiyah here on Friday January 30.
The celebration started at 7:30 pm with introduction by master of ceremony Deepak Andrade, followed by prayer dance presented by Vinisha. PWCK President Richard Menezes welcomed the chief guests and all the parishioners along with more than 225 gathered guests and well-wishers.
The committee members welcomed the chief guests with flowers, followed by lighting of the lamp by Fr Noel D’Almeda, parish priest of St Daniel Comboni, Abbassiya-Kuwait, Pascal Pinto, NRI Forum president, Morivine Quadras, Gulf Voice of Mangalore-Season-4 winner, Richard Menezes, president and Praveen Menezes, vice-president. They cut the cake to symbolically start the feast.
Gulf Voice of Manglore Season-4 winner Morvine Quadras was honored with a memento and flowers by Pascal Pinto and Richard Menezes. Also, Jovas Dance Group, Vinisha and Raina D’Mello were felicitated with flowers.
General secretary Remy Fernandes read the annual report highlighting the achievements of PWCK.
Fr Noel praised PWCK members for their dedication towards the Pius Nagar parish. Pascal Pinto was thankful to all the PWCK members, who kept the committee moving on with unity and appreciated the great work carried out by PWCK.
As part of the entertainment programme, well-known dance groups of Kuwait Jovas Group performed foot-tapping dances which was appreciated by everyone. Melodious songs were sung by Morvine Quadras, Raina D’mello (Gulf Voice of Manglore Season-4 semi-finalist), Maxi Pinto, Irene Santhumayor and Nelson D’Souza, who entertained the crowd with their beautiful voices. A number of games for children and adults were conducted during the event. Prizes were distributed to all the winners in different games.
Sunil Menezes proposed the vote of thanks and expressed gratitude to all the members and their families, guests and sponsors. The prayer was rendered by Fr Noel D’Almeda.
PPS Caterers, Salmiyah, provided the delicious food for the evening. Rocking music was played by DJ Live Rockers. Photography was by Nelson D’souza. The programme was wonderfully compered by Deepak Andrade and appreciated by everyone.
