Beltangady, Feb 6: ABVP leader Nidhish Shetty, who was arrested in connection to the recent clashes at Karaya in the taluk, has been released on bail.
It may be recalled that ABVP had led a massive protest just two days ago demanding release of Nidhish Shetty, claiming that he was innocent.
Nidhish Shetty, a student, along with many others was arrested in connection to the communal clashes at Karaya, where stones were allegedly pelted at right wing activists returning from Hindu Hrudaya Sangama at Puttur and a mosque was also damaged.
The police during investigation reportedly found identity cards of students and CCTV images. Nidhish was arrested after he was caught on CCTV camera pelting stone at the Karaya mosque, sources said.
Soon after his release on Thursday February 5 night, Nidhish was taken in a procession by members of ABVP.
It is learnt that apart from Nidhish, all others who were arrested in the Karaya clashes have also been released on bail.
